What are the Signs of Menopause?

What are the signs of menopause, and what sorts of remedies are available to help manage symptoms? It’s a question that all women ask themselves at some point in their lives as their bodies age and change.

Signs of menopause vary depending on a woman’s exact age, but often include changes to the menstrual cycle, hot flashes, insomnia and night sweats, decreased libido, vaginal dryness, anxiety, and fatigue. For most women, menopause starts between the ages of 45 and 55, though some may experience menopausal onset earlier or later. Menopause signals the end of a woman’s fertility, and symptoms generally occur 12 months after her final menstrual cycle.

Menopause is an inevitably of age. (Forgive your mother for keeping the windows open in the winter—those hot flashes can get intense!) But fortunately, there are ways to mitigate symptoms and find some relief.

CBD For Menopause

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally-occurring chemical derived from the  hemp plant. Unlike its cousin, THC, CBD has no psychoactive properties and does not induce feelings of being high. Instead, research suggests that CBD may have some strong health benefits, including relief from the symptoms of menopause.

CBD oil benefits for menopause include regulation of temperature, mood, and immune functions, as well as support for better sleep. It’s all thanks to  how CBD interacts with the body’s natural cannabinoid receptors, which reside in the brain, major organs and tissues, and yes, even the reproductive system.

Menopause has been found to disrupt the delicate balance of the endocannabinoid system in reproductive organs, which is why research has begun to dive in to the possibilities of CBD oil for hormone imbalance issues, PMS, and the uncomfortable side effects of the menopausal period.

Balance Hormones With CBD

Women who are looking for a way to relieve menopausal symptoms without having to rely on pharmaceutical pain killers, sleeping pills, or synthetic hormones may benefit from the use of CBD.

An ever-growing body of evidence supports the notion that CBD could be an effective natural and  homeopathic remedy for the hormonal imbalances spurred on by menopause. Various case studies in the past decade have shown CBD’s potential to help stabilize mood, reduce sleep disturbances, and return balance to endocannabinoid receptors in the reproductive system.

There is more research yet to be done surrounding the benefits of CBD for menopause and whether CBD oil can help reduce menopausal symptoms. But with an estimated 1.1 billion menopausal woman around the world by the year 2025, there is a strong push for clinical trials in the area.

Q&A

If we still haven’t convinced you, then take it from the words of our very own Terilyn, who uses CBD products to combat a variety of her maladies from migraines to hot flashes.

Question 1: What made you consider using CBD oil?

So, I started taking CBD in October 2017, knowing that it was organic, for my migraines. I had tried other herbs from the health food store with very little results. I also tried for 1 year a bio-identical hormone cream, which actually messed my hormones up worse and I had to do a charcoal cleanse for over a month to clean my body out.

Question 2: How did it help you?

I started to see my mood and hot flashes were about 80% better! I am also sleeping much more soundly, and after reading up on it, I found that CBD will help you to relax and put you in that REM state of sleeping and help balance hormones during menopause. I also learned that CBD can make prescribed medications stronger! I was able to take half of my migraine medication and get same results!

Question 3: What product worked best for you?

The Endoca is wonderful because it is very easy to keep track of my milligrams. About one drop equals one milligram. Once I found my “sweet spot”, I used the larger bottle of RSHO 4oz, because now I can take a 1/8 of a teaspoon (5mg) at breakfast and lunch. Then before bed I take a 1/4 tsp (10MG) to help me sleep and to get rid of those pesky hot flashes. Also for my migraines, I will put Endoca 750 Suave on my neck and temples, which helps with pain and relaxes my tight muscles. I just recently started vaping, too. I use this in the middle of the day, like a rescue, when I feel my Migraines coming on, and I will be darned if this hasn’t helped too!

CBD Oil For Menopause: The Takeaway

The role of the endocannabinoid system in regulating menopausal and postmenopausal health is still being determined, but researchers do know that the reproductive system contains key endocannabinoid receptors that may be positively affected by the use of CBD.

While more clinical studies are required before we’ll know for sure about all of the CBD oil benefits for menopause, many maintain hope that CBD will present as an effective natural remedy for finding hormonal balance once a woman’s fertile period has come to an end.
